Sound Show - Update May 1, 2024
Instruction system improved
Instruction system was getting better but still need work to be more reliable and user friendly. Those changes go in that direction:
- You can now drag and drop instructions in the instruction player to reorder them
- You can now lock an instruction to avoid the player to remove it when it is fully executed
- There is now an edit mode in the instruction player (when not in edit mode the edit buttons are hidden)
- If you crossfade an instruction the other executing instructions will be removed
- There is now a button to stop/remove all instruction player
- Fixed a bug where sometimes selecting the next instruction didn't work correctly
- There is now a full line drawn when an instruction is not on autostart showing it more clearly
- The concept of linked/local instruction is better handled. Linked instructions have just link with the item while local instruction duplicate the item so that you can edit the item without affecting the original. You can now easily transform a linked instruction into a local instruction.
Smooth loop improvement
Smooth looping is a mechanism where a sound crossfade with itself when looping to better blend.
Here are some small fix and quality of life improvement :
- The player fading out is now hidden. This avoid having more players and all players under being moved one step.
- The loop is now always on the same device it was playing before (before if you changed the output device for next sound it would take that one)
- Looping on smooth mode doesn't add anymore a new log to the history logs of sound played
Playlist player
- Right clicking on the autoplay button will start to play the playlist by crossfading all sounds, while left clicking will only crossfade with a sound launched from the playlist
- Fixed a bug when trying to play a sound not loaded in memory where the program would try to launch it many times
Various improvements and fixes
- Added a button to load all items of the current sound library. It can be found on the libraries view.
- Added keyboard and midi key configuration to start/stop/toggle mic recording
- The edition popup of items is now bigger for improve readability
- Some video formats where missing in the file selector window for video (webm, ogv, vp8)
- The default library wasn't using custom colors on buttons
- Fix small problems with the duration text on the buttons
- Fix some parameters were not correctly saved. For example, disabling loop for image.
- You can now use the save button after deleting a sound library
- Drag and dropping from file explorer, change automatically the interface to edit mode.
- Users sometimes encounter trouble when there were no category selected. To avoid that :
- When creating an new sound library, a first category is also automatically created
- If no category exists when drag and dropping from the file explorer, an empty one is created.
Thanks for all the user feedbacks that contributed to many of those improvements.
